Cooper Grace Ward has a specialist Intellectual Property (IP) team which advises on IP protection strategies and IP disputes. Members of our team have founded, managed and operated e-commerce and IT businesses and as a result, have an appreciation for the commercial and IP issues faced by your organisation.

Our services in this area include:

• Acting for numerous corporate and commercial clients (small and large) in applying for trade mark registrations and handling trade mark disputes
• Preparing intellectual property agreements, including licences to use, manufacture, develop and market, confidentiality agreements and agreements dealing with patent rights
• For clients in the IT and Biotech fields we have created patenting and other IP protection strategies, liaising with other professionals such as Patent Attorneys where appropriate
• Acting for a Gladstone based software provider to the mining industry in a dispute relating to the licensing and ownership of software which was the subject of patent applications
• Acting for publishers in relation to copyright matters
• Frequently drafting licence agreements for clients from the perspective of both the licensee and licensor and relating to matters as diverse as software, patents, business processes, trade marks and brands, and copyright.
