Compliance with WH&S laws is essential for all employers. This includes taking reasonable steps to protect employees from mental illness. Similar to First Aid Officers, all employers should have a suitably qualified Mental Health First Aid Officer.
Our two day mental health first aid course is designed to train nominated workplace representatives to assist those in the workplace who may be developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.
Over the two days, participants will learn:
- the signs and symptoms of mental health problems
- what to do as a mental health first aid responder
- what resources are available to those with mental health problems.
Course participants will receive a copy of The Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) manual and are eligible to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider. There are no prerequisites for this course and CPD points may be applicable, depending on your industry.
If you are unable to register on this date but are interested in attending a future course please register your interest at WRS@cgw.com.au.
We hope that you are able to join us for this training session.
